Sheri P. Tully, Clinical Social Work / Therapist, MSW, LCSW, EMDR

I love working with individuals and families. What drives me in my profession is the moments I know I have made an impact on someone's life. My goal is to help you facilitate change. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, hopefully what sets me apart from other Social Workers is my approach towards your mental health needs.

I have extensive experience with victims, adolescents and behavioral issues, trauma, addictions, families, social and educational needs and women's issues. More specifically, I consider my specialties to be trauma-focused therapy, addictions and recovery, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and family therapy.

After all, " The beginning is the most important part of the work," Plato.

I pride myself on providing compassion and empathy to my clients, and the challenges they are facing. I believe there is no such thing as a “perfect” person, and although it can be difficult to give ourselves grace, it is necessary in one’s healing. It is of the utmost essence that my clients feel they are in a safe, non-judgmental space during their sessions, and that they’re valued as an individual, which is why I meet every client where they are. Not only in healing but with life in general, connection, relationships and support are pivotal in one’s positive growth and development. My goal is to make a lasting impression with my clients, by modeling and providing these necessities which will help them process and persevere in their current struggles, in addition to being able to utilize the gained tools and knowledge in the future.

Viewing situations from a broader vantage point allows one to understand and in turn, process any given situation/occurrence in its entirety. Possessing a closed mindset can hinder the way one processes and copes. Change is challenging for most, as the unknown can be scary and intimidating, however, in changing your perspective, you have the ability to change your overall mindset.

I thoroughly enjoy helping others, especially when it comes to their mental wellbeing. I think it is vital that we as a society continue to work towards breaking the stigma associated with mental health, as everyone experiences struggles throughout their lives, and they are not always easy to overcome.

My therapeutic approach is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness, to assist clients in effectively navigating a healthier lifestyle. I’m also in the process of becoming EMDR certified.

It can be difficult to ask for help, so I’m glad you’ve taken the first step. I look forward to helping you live a happier life by way of a more positive mindset!

I’m passionate about helping people heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives.
