Asking for help is not always easy but you have taken the first step to getting support. It takes a lot of courage and bravery to reach out and embark on a journey of change.

Through this process, I use a person-centered approach and strengths-based approach when collaborating with clients for them to achieve their goals and feel like they are heard and valued. I always want to create a safe environment for my clients, where they feel like their stories can be told without any judgement and feel like they are able to feel empowered.

I have worked in the field of mental health since 2018. I have experience working with children, adolescents, military personnel and families, and adults in outpatient, residential, in-home, school-based settings, drug court, IOP, and PHP levels of care.

I utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, ERP (exposure and response prevention therapy) and person-centered therapy within my therapy sessions. I specialize in the treatment of eating disorders, OCD, PTSD, and mood disorders. I also have experience working with depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, trauma, self-esteem issues, and substance use.

I am also trained in EMDR, ERP, DBT, eating disorder intuitive therapy, and family-based treatment for adolescents with anorexia nervosa, ARFID, and bulimia nervosa. I am also a clinical supervisor as well and an ambassador for Project HEAL.

In my free time, I enjoy running and CrossFit training, music, going to the beach, shopping, being with my family and my dogs, and traveling to new countries.

Samantha Solomin

Counseling Intern

Samantha Solomin

Hi! I am so excited to be here!

Mental health is something I am so passionate about. In my early twenties, a decade ago, I sought out my own therapy due to a traumatic experience that occurred, and those events kept coming throughout my twenties.

Therapy has ultimately gotten me to where I am today. My goal is to be a safe space for someone, where they feel heard, respected, and valued, because that alone can be extremely important to the foundation of the therapeutic relationship. If I can help at least one single person and make an impact on them, I am happy with that. I hope it will be more!

I am enthusiastic about healing and growing what you go through. I have an extensive background in autism, but as I continue to grow my professional career as an aspiring counselor, I am excited to explore different areas.

Kianna Ackerman

Licensed Social Worker

Kianna Ackerman

Hey ! I'm Kianna,  a Licensed Social Worker and proud Bordentown resident, originally from Brooklyn, New York. I’m passionate about walking alongside people as they navigate life’s changes, heal from past experiences, and grow into the best version of themselves.

In my work, I focus on creating a space that feels safe, supportive, and genuine, a space where you can exhale and just be you. I draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based approaches, all while keeping my work trauma-informed and person-centered. That means we’ll work together to understand what’s really going on beneath the surface and build tools that fit your life.

I love supporting women, parents, and young adults who are managing self-doubt, burnout, or simply trying to find balance while showing up for everyone else. As a mom and a helper at heart, I know firsthand how hard it can be to pour from an empty cup, and how powerful it is to finally pour into yourself.

Therapy with me is about progress, not perfection. My goal is to help you feel seen, heard, and empowered to move forward at your own pace.
