Take Control of Your Emotions: Join Our Virtual DBT Skills Group for Adults
Life Can Be Overwhelming, But You Don’t Have to Navigate It Alone
Life often presents us with unexpected challenges—emotional highs and lows, difficult relationships, work stress, or just the daily pressures of trying to stay afloat. If you’ve ever felt like your emotions were in the driver’s seat or struggled to maintain healthy connections, you’re not alone. At Sharing Temple Counseling LLC, we understand that these challenges are part of being human, but we also believe that everyone deserves the tools to face them with strength and clarity.
That’s why we’re proud to introduce “Create a Life Worth Living”, a virtual Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills group designed specifically for adults aged 21 and over. This online group provides a safe, supportive, and interactive environment where participants can learn to manage emotional distress, improve interpersonal effectiveness, and build a more meaningful life, one skill at a time.
What is DBT and How Can It Help?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a well-researched, evidence-based form of therapy originally developed to help individuals who experience intense emotions, impulsive behavior, or chronic relationship difficulties. Since its inception, DBT has evolved into a life-changing approach that can benefit anyone who wants to better manage stress, improve communication, and regulate their emotions more effectively.
DBT is more than just talk therapy, it’s a practical skills-based approach that empowers people with concrete tools they can use every day. Whether you’re struggling with emotional outbursts, relationship conflicts, or simply want to build better habits, DBT offers a structured path forward.
Meet Your Group Leader
Our virtual DBT group is led by Alexandra Esposito, a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) trained through Behavioral Tech, the leading DBT training organization founded by Dr. Marsha Linehan. Alexandra brings warmth, empathy, and deep clinical knowledge to every session. She is passionate about helping clients grow and heal in a space that is inclusive, compassionate, and free from judgment.
What You’ll Learn
Over the course of each 4-week cycle, you’ll be introduced to the four core modules of DBT:
1. Mindfulness
Learn to focus on the present moment without judgment. Mindfulness is the foundation of DBT and helps you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. It enables you to slow down, check in with yourself, and respond thoughtfully, rather than reacting impulsively.
2. Distress Tolerance
Discover how to manage crises and tolerate emotional pain in healthy ways. This module offers strategies to navigate tough situations without making them worse, skills that are particularly helpful during high-stress moments or when facing loss, disappointment, or trauma.
3. Emotion Regulation
Gain a deeper understanding of your emotional patterns and learn how to reduce emotional vulnerability. This module teaches how to identify, label, and shift emotional responses so you can experience emotions without being controlled by them.
4. Interpersonal Effectiveness
Strengthen your communication skills and learn how to express your needs, set boundaries, and build healthier relationships. Whether it's with family, friends, co-workers, or partners, this module helps you balance being assertive with being respectful.
Why a Group Format?
Healing doesn’t happen in isolation. A group setting offers the benefit of shared experience and a sense of community. Many participants report that simply hearing others share similar challenges helps them feel less alone. You’ll gain perspective, build accountability, and receive support from peers who understand what you’re going through.
And because this group is fully virtual, you can attend from anywhere—in your own space, at your own pace.
